Coronavirus – 29 / 3 / 2020
Dear Patients,
Due to the latest national guidelines all routine and urgent treatment has to be stopped. We are open but cannot have direct contact with patients. This is a difficult and fluid situation and we really want to help our patients but at present this is very limited. To help our patients we are taking calls for emergencies Monday to Friday 9am-5pm to provide support to our patients in the form of advice, analgesics or antibiotics. Emergency Local Urgent Dental Care systems are being set up, but these will only be for very urgent cases.
We appreciate the worry and distress dental problems can cause and will do all we can to resume normal care as soon as possible.
Dentists are being deployed in the wider NHS to assist in the national effort to save lives
Copy of latest information from the Chief Dental Officer:
“A. Changes to Primary Dental Care services
(General Dental Practices and Community Dental Services)
- All routine, non-urgent dental care including orthodontics should be stopped and
deferred until advised otherwise.
- All practices should establish (independently or by collaboration with others) a remote
urgent care service, providing telephone triage for their patients with urgent needs
during usual working hours, and whenever possible treating with:
- Advice
- Analgesia
- Antimicrobial means where appropriate
If the patient’s condition cannot be managed by these means, then they will need to
be referred to the appropriate part of their Local Urgent Dental Care system”
We will update this page in due course when new advice is distributed.
Please accept our apologies but we are all doing our best under the present circumstances.
Thank you for your understanding during this time and as our valued patients, we wish you all the best.
Kind regards
Rowtree Dental Care
